What is FSC Alumni?

We Aren’t a Detox. We’re a Family.

At Fresh Start of California, we are dedicated to helping others realize their potential and lifelong missions. That is why we started FSC Alumni. This extension of our facility is a team that interacts and nurtures relationships with clients even after they complete our detox and residential programs. As a client, you will not just leave our detox as a sober person, you will leave with an entire family that will support you every day.

When Did FSC Alumni Begin?

Although we have always remained close with clients after they have moved beyond treatment, FSC Alumni officially launched in October 2019, when Preston Durnford and Lacey Ursich, the owners of Fresh Start of California, realized the deep need for connection between the FSC treatment team and post-treatment clients.

The Goals of the FSC Alumni

The goal of the FSC Alumni is to elevate the expectations of a life in sobriety. We believe every day is a gift to be enjoyed, and the greatest way to live each day to its fullest potential is in a healthy manner—spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

As a team of strong individuals who raise each other up, we seek to break the cycle addiction attempts to create. We proudly believe our efforts will inspire this generation and all the ones to follow to live a life full of love and happiness, and we do it together to create the biggest impact possible.

FSC Alumni Events

To create a sense of community, the FSC Alumni come together to celebrate sobriety in the best fashion possible—through action! When you become part of our alumni, you will enjoy a wide range of activities right beside your best friends, including:

  • Breathwork sessions
  • Beach runs
  • Coffee shop meetups
  • Lunches and dinners
  • Skydiving sessions
  • Bonfires
  • Surfing
  • Volleyball
  • Much more

In addition, every other month, the FSC Alumni hosts a “How Much Can You Live One Day Sober” event, which incorporates many of the activities mentioned above in a 24-hour span. In doing so, we seek to show others that being sober does not mean living a boring life—it means creating opportunities every single second.

If you are ready to help us spread love and life while living a sober life, we urge you to join the movement! Get Hyped About Getting Sober. Join the FSC Alumni!
